Why you are always tired (and how to rest for success)

Do you struggle to get things done? Do you have a list of things you’d like to do, but when it comes time to do them, you instead find yourself sitting on the couch, scrolling mindlessly for hours on your phone? Do you find yourself guzzling down caffeinated beverages to keep up with your schedule? Do you struggle with brain fog and fatigue during your week?

As our lives continue to speed up, we are losing the kinds of rest that we, as humans, need to lead not only successful lives but fulfilling ones. In order to achieve optimal performance, we need not only sleep but rest. In today’s demanding and fast-paced world, intentionally creating periods of rest seems almost like an act of rebellion.
In order to stay productive, gain perspective and generate new ideas, the brain needs time off. It is in downtime that one can make unexpected connections and receive new insights and inspirations. Intentional rest also provides that platform to connect with our intuition, or ‘authentic self,’ and find our inner voice to provide us with the direction we need to create a meaningful and happy life.
